Confidentiality
We will keep things you tell us to ourselves. This means if you talk to us, we won’t tell the other children in your school what you have said.
We might need to tell your teacher, head-teacher or parents some of the things you have said so that we can work together to help you.
If we have to do this, we will talk to you about it first.
It helps us when we are trying to sort out situations if we can talk to everyone who was there when it happened. This means if you are being bullied we will usually want to talk to the person who you say is doing the bullying. If you really don’t want this to happen you should tell your worker.
If you tell us something that makes us worried that you, or another child, is not safe we will have to tell other adults about this. If this happens, we will talk to you about it, why we are worried and who we have to tell. Things we would think are not safe might be if we thought an adult was hurting you, or you were not having enough to eat.
The most important part of our job is to keep children safe.
